Using Juice for Podcasts

Home NDOTFA Home

Juice is a very good, Open Source podcast client that runs on many operating systems. It does not read blogs, only podcasts. The first step is to download Juice. Save it somewhere that you will remember where it is. If you are running Windows double-click on it to install. It will ask some questions and then you will be up and running. I would suggest that you have it add links for you, and unless you are using and prefer something else, let it create any file associations it wants to.

Now run Juice and let it import Directories. You will find that you are subscribed to two podcasts from the developers of Juice. Click on a subscription to update from the server. Click the "check/download selected feed" icon ( hold the mouse over an icon for help) and it will download a small mp3 and open the downloads window. After the download is finished, right click on a file and select "Play episode in media player". You are listening to a podcast.

If you select the Directories tab you will see a list of podcasts you can subscribe to. Now select Tools->Add a feed. In the url box type or cut and paste and click Save. Now select the subscriptions tab, click on Bonanzaville Jam Podcast and it will download a list of available files. Select those you want and click on the "check/download selected feed" icon.

You can import our OPML directory by selecting the Directories tab, putting in the box, and clicking add. Then scroll to the bottom and click on User added root. It will download and open. Select a podcast and click Add and you are subscribed.

Enjoy the music and for a good time come to Bonanzaville's Dawson Hall any Saturday between 1 and 5 PM and bring your instrument.
